How do I brake correctly?

Braking properly on an e-scooter is easy if you know how!

Short Thumb Breaker
Braking test with load convinces

The Moovi's main brake is the regenerative brake, located at the front of the handlebar, operated with your left thumb. This motor brake returns energy to the battery when an e-scooter is braking, recharging it. It's a gentle brake. If you ride with foresight, it's perfectly sufficient for braking.

If you are forced to stop immediately and particularly quickly, use the rear foot brake as well.

The front, red handbrake is the third brake on your Moovi. This is a drum brake on the front wheel, which MUST be used only in conjunction with the rear footbrake! We've painted it red so you don't forget.

The regenerative brake is located on the left between the handbrake and the bell and is operated with the thumb. The handbrake has a very strong braking force and should only be used in combination with the footbrake and very emotional be used to avoid a fall!

Rear foot brake

Moovi Honeycomb rear tire

The rear foot brake has slightly more braking power than the regenerative braking. The harder you press the mudguard against the tire, the stronger the effect. Here, too, you should use the regenerative braking or the handbrake at the same time to distribute the braking force across both wheels.
